Endowed scholarships open doors for exceptional young people who might otherwise be unable to attend Marist. These deserving recipients bring a wealth of talent and personal experience that creates a more vibrant, dynamic, and diverse college community.
By minimizing student loans, we free our students from choosing a career path solely for economic reasons to instead do the great work that excites them. This maximizes their ability to contribute significantly to their communities and the world.
Investing in a student’s education is an invaluable way to show support and encouragement.
As recipients of a scholarship, students learn about the importance of philanthropy and why it is necessary to create opportunities for future generations.
“I cannot thank you enough for making an investment in me and my future. In addition to easing some of the financial burden, this scholarship is allowing me to receive a great education and helping to achieve my goal of becoming a math teacher.”

More than ever before, scholarships are enabling talented students with demonstrated financial need to realize the dream of a Marist education.
Approximately 87% of Marist undergraduate students receive some form of financial assistance. It is estimated that more than half of all current Marist students are employed on campus or hold part-time jobs while attending school.
An endowed scholarship fund yields support that benefits students on an annual basis. By establishing such a fund, the donor can make a contribution to the future of Marist College that will stand in perpetuity. Currently, the College’s policy is to distribute for expenditure five percent (5%) of the average of the twelve-quarter trailing market value of its pooled restricted and/or unrestricted investments.
Annual Giving Scholarships may be established with annual gifts of $2,500 or more for four years, providing invaluable support for students during each of their years at Marist. The full gift is allocated to the student’s financial account.

“I stay involved at Marist and serve on the board because I want to make sure that others can enjoy and learn from this wonderful institution. I want to help get lives on a great path toward success. When I went to Marist, my parents and I lived in Hyde Park. We had barely enough money to pay my tuition. I couldn’t afford to stay on campus and hitchhiked from Hyde Park to Marist for three years. I missed the experience of living on campus, and I want to make sure that young people coming to Marist for the great academic environment also have the resources to enjoy the whole atmosphere. I want these students to get everything they can out of their Marist experience.”
